Cornet Obolensky was declared second vice-champion as the darling of the public at the main North-Rhine Westphalian approval of 2001. He produced an exceedingly good 30 day test with an overall point's score of 8.33, as third of his test lot, leading the field in show jumping with the score of 9.24. He was moreover awarded the top score of 10 for loose jumping by the judges.
This up and coming young show jumping stallion with his highly modern makeup has all that it takes for a top performance sports horse. His highly elastic movement and superb uphill canter are well combined with jumping qualities that are hard to equal in respect to capacity, leg technique and style of jumping. He was presented successfully in show jumper competitions in 2003. In 2004 he was seen at equestrian sports events and stallion presentations under Ludger Beerbaum.
Cornet Obolensky has a first class pedigree. He is by Clinton, son of the international icon Corrado I (Franke Sloothaak), who is himself a highly successful international show jumper, and not only combines the premium national stallions Cor de la Bryère, Landgraf I and Capitol in his pedigree but furthermore derives from Holstein bloodline 8829.
Cornet's dam-sire Heartbreaker, who was victorious in World Cup events, is a son of the probably most prominent Dutch sire of show jumpers of the past 20 years, Nimmerdor. His grand-dam, a successful advanced class show jumper, produced the victorious international competition sports horse Querido (by Feinschnitt I). Her sire Randel Z, a son of Thieß Luther's successful international competition sports mare Alarie Z, produced the international dressage horse Nector (ridden by Ingrid Klimke).
Cornet Obolensky is one of the biggest breeding revelations in Germany the past two years, and his offspring are proving to be exceptional. For example, at the 2004 German Foal Championship a Cornet Obolensky x Lancer III colt became the Grand Champion of the show, and a superbly jumping and unusually well moving colt by Cornet Obolensky x Acobat x Cantus became Champion of the 2005 Westfalian Stallion Licensing.
Cornet Obolensky's premiere age class has already produced a number of very expensive elite foals for the 25th and 26th North-Rhine Westphalian elite auctions. "Beautiful types with handsome faces and well proportioned harmonious conformation caused a stir among the public. Particularly impressive were the decidedly spirited, uphill moving motions during the trot".
Cornet Obolensky was ridden by Marco Kutscher in the 2008 Olympics in hong Kong.
Cornet Obolensky's son Cornetto King is the only licensed stallion in the UK from this breeding!
